About the Paralegal Program
The Aristotle University Paralegal Certificate Program has been designed commensurate with State of California Business and Professions Code Section 6450 et sequ. and accordingly requires the successful completion of twenty-five (25) semester units in law-related courses. The Paralegal Certificate Program is a six (6) month hybrid educational vocational certificate program – it is meant to provide you with meaningful, practical, and useful paralegal knowledge and skills so that you are able to enter the workforce immediately upon its completion. The Paralegal Certificate Program consists of two parts: an Academic Didactic Program and a Legal Practicum Series. Both parts are integrated and run concurrently, that way academic knowledge is converted into practical understanding and practical and useful work skills which employers will appreciate.
The Academic Didactic Program provides formal instruction in the law of Contracts; Torts; Criminal Law; Family Law; Wills, Trusts & Probate; Bankruptcy; Real Property; Legal Ethics; Business Organizations; Civil Procedure & Litigation; and Worker’s Compensation. The Legal Practicum Series provides practical knowledge, experience and skills which are necessary to be an effective, useful and employment-worthy Paralegal. A Legal Practicum is offered in Family Law, Probate; Bankruptcy; Law Office Management; Legal Research & Writing; and Worker’s Compensation.
A total of twenty-five (25) Units are required for successful completion of the Aristotle University Paralegal Certificate Program. Unit distribution is as follows:
The Paralegal Program has not been accredited by, nor has applied for, accreditation by the American Bar Association. Credits for classes obtained at Aristotle University may not be transferrable to other educational institutions or programs.
Instructors
All instructors of the Paralegal Certificate Program are required to have been accepted by the Aristotle University as Faculty. Our instructors include both Paralegal professionals and licensed attorneys. Our instructors have the requisite knowledge and teaching skills which have been reviewed by Aristotle University to assure that you obtain the finest education and skill level.
Admission & Application
Admission to the Aristotle University Paralegal Certificate Program is open to those individuals who have earned at lest a high school diploma or its equivalent. You must also have proficient basic word processing skills, access to a computer, and a general familiarity with internet researching. Costs & Installment Payment Plans
Tuition costs for the Paralegal Certificate Program is three-thousand five-hundred dollars ($3,500.00). Because of this low cost, school loans are not necessary. An initial deposit is required, and installment payment plans may be made each month for the balance due. Costs for books vary by vendor.
